How are used containers graded?
Concargo sells both new, used and specialized containers. Used containers are available in a range of conditions, however our Survey division ensures customers that the highest standards are met in the certified shipping containers we sell. We’re able to match customer needs with equipment, whether you’re looking for “in yard” storage, or certified units that conform to IICL5 ratings required for international shipping. We guarantee all equipment to be wind and water tight, and structurally sound. “As is” products are available.
Wind-and-watertight: a basic storage grade, with all container
structure intact, Grade A more cosmetically appealing than Grade B

Cargoworthy: meets international standards for marine transport

IICL5: the highest grade of used Containers, conforms to the most
current maintenance and repair criteria of the Institute of
International Container Lessors (IICL)

As-is: severe damage possible, with repair to a higher grade not
economically feasible

What are containers used for?
Shipping containers are tough, designed to withstand the rigors of trans-oceanic passage on the decks of ships, their design makes them well suited to a variety of applications including keeping valuables (and people) dry and safe on land. Unlike wooden or metal sheds, containers are immune from infestation by wood-eating bugs, rodents, and criminals. They can also be moved about easily with a forklift, and can be dragged with a truck or tractor. They are highly modular for stacking and assembling in groups.

Homeowners looking for practical moving solutions save money by loading containers themselves, saving on storage, rental, labour and transportation costs.

How can my container be customized?
Concargo can arrange for the customization of units from personnel doors, roll-up doors, or windows, ventilation systems, refrigeration and painting of your container. Other customization options are also available. see “Container Services”

How is payment made?
Once you’ve ordered your container, Concargo will issue you an invoice. Once your invoice is paid via check, money order, wire transfer, or cash, Concargo will release your container for delivery.

How long does the entire process take?
With immediate payment, you can usually have your containers on site within a week.
